| 26.11.07 This week's work is a ballad. These are among the oldest Norwegian folk tunes we know of, some dating from the 14th century. Around 1850 Norwegian scholars started writing them down, and Grieg arranged this tune a.o. in his op. 30. The present version is for oboe and organ, with Brynjar Hoff and Kåre Nordstoga playing. Their Simax CD is called "Gabriel's oboe".

| 19.11.07 This week's work is a march from Grieg's orchestra suite "Sigurd Jorsalfar". Originally Grieg wrote this piece as incidental music for a play by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson which was performed at the opening of Norway's National Theatre. Later Grieg reworked it into a suite for violin and orchestra.

| 12.11.07 Edvard Grieg and Henrik Ibsen met for the first time in 1865 i Rome. More than ten years later Grieg wrote this week's work, one out of six songs to texts by Ibsen. Their creation coincided with the premiere of Peer Gynt in Kristiania, with which Grieg was deeply dissatisfied. The baritone Per Vollestad sings, accompanied by Sigmund Hjelset on the piano.
